OVERVIEW
One of our Evergreen Hair Sets we wanted to launch in 2025 was the Wash Day Your Way set, which consisted of travel-size Shampoo & Conditioners from each of our collections. I worked closely with various team members to form this boxed set design from concept to completion.
INITIAL CONCEPTS
I started off by proposing 3 different concepts for directions we could go, each with a different pattern that would be incorporated on the box in some way. The patterns were intended to mimic hair texture/hair strands. We also experimented with a either a clear film cover for the box, or a couple different die-cut window cutout shapes.
JVN loved the bold and graphic pattern in concept 3, but wanted to ensure we were inclusive of all hair types (not just wavy/curly). We altered the pattern to fade from straight hair to kinky/coily hair, and back to straight in a repeating pattern. We also landed on a fun waved die-cut shape to reveal the product on either side of the box.
FINAL BOX DESIGN
I worked closely with our copywriter for final copy & translations, our regulatory team to ensure all legal requirements were met, and did a handful of test prints to ensure the pattern was matching up as seamlessly as possible when the box was assembled.
